Selfie Bohol: A self-care getaway!

It was not a planned vacation! I was in the Island for an official work (outreach psychosocial training program), but after a three days of hard work... you'll need to take care of your self! Thus, self care getaway is needed. And i took one for myself!

So, where did I went. Our group rented a van (capacity of 12 people, 3000pesos) for about a day! We went around the island and our 1st stop Alona Beach @ panglao island. White sand beach perfect for swimming. Boats are readily available for rent and island hopping packages.

Second Stop: Bohol Bee Farm. There are a lot of things you can do here. Watch women do weaving materials for clothes, bags and other materials. See the bees of course for 50pesos. You can also buy a lot of pasalubong in their souvenir shop that has a wide array of honey based products from good food to alcoholic beverages. A must try is their malunggay ice-cream in a honey coned.

@ the bee farm, you can also have your portrait painted in a charcoal by their resident artist! Although other art works are readily available for your selection.

Third Stop: Baclayon Church and Museum. Although this was ruin in the recent earthquake 2013. This place is still a must visit. Good coastline in front of the church where is a lush mangroves and crystal clear water. As of today, the church is under renovation but still can be accessed by tourist! don't forget to visit their Museum for 50 pesos only.

Fourth Stop: Sandugo Shrine or the Blood Compact site. I expected a large statues but these were life size statues of the blood compact to symbolize unity during the spanish era.

Your Bohol experience would not be complete without Kalamay, a local delicacy made from coconut milk and brown sugar (i guess). Try it with a hot monay bread, it will be sumptuous!

And just we left for Bohol @ Jagna Port, this simple beach front near the port is such a discovery! Clear-cool water is so irresistible that we dip for awhile while waiting for our boat! Indeed it was a day of caring for thy self in a selfie documentation mode!
