Getting into the Blue Reef...

As the summer heat of 2009 increases, the more reason you'll definitely go to somewhere cool and has water. Just a 30 minute ride from Cebu City, along the coastline of Mactan Island lays a simple getaway...

...as blue as the sky and clear as crystal has this place can offer you. Clean water and has good amenities for budget constraint back-packers like me!

Blue Reef is one of the known beaches in Cebu since its affordable and can be easily accessible to all.

What I love about this place is that it has clear waters, two twin slides, a make-belief cave where you can hide and do some naughty stuff (hahaha), and white sand beach front. Although there are some rough corral-rocks around, it seems like it we properly placed to ornament the place with simplicity. They have the regular  beach amenities and cottages for the family and friends to hang-out. Some boats are also available for tourist to rent and paddle around the area. Here are some of the cool pictures I shared with my Team Serials!

Side Trip! BASDAKU, Moalboal, CEBU, Phil

A place of good weather and a long stretch of beautiful white sand, you'll find it at Basdaku, Moalboal at the province of Cebu. Here are some of my memorable pictures with my work-team way back May of 2009.

These were indeed one of those things money can't buy. A spread of greenery topical plants along the shoreline that perfectly shades bystanders like us.

Enjoying the cool and salty sea breeze where such a perfect day to just do nothing but enjoy God's Gift of Nature and LIFE!

You'll be able to pass by the municipality of Moalboal if your going to Badian. Its around 3 hour bus ride from Cebu City. Almost 120 km from the city proper of Cebu.

It's a perfect place to get tanned as well. . .    he he he.

Discovering Badian! an icy cool experience...

Located 130 km southwest of Cebu City, you;ll find Badian a 3rd class municipality in the province of Cebu. 2010 census, shows a population of 37,699 people. The Municipality of Badian is not known for its rocky beach fronts but instead abound the beautiful majestic waterfall called "KAWASAN FALLS."

Kawasan falls of Badian is among the many natural spring waterfalls that sprouts from the area. Visitors describe it as a gentle hush of rushing ice cool water.

Badian is about three hours bus ride from Cebu City. The Kawasan Falls is located inside the mountains of Barangay Mtutinao, Badian.

From the entrance you will have to walk uphill for about 1.5 km to get to the first water. Along the way, souvenir shop are selling accessories such as beaded necklaces, bracelets, and Kawasan print-shirts.

There are also locals that offers being guides or porters to carry your heavy luggage. What is commendable is that they are very friendly. Local stores near the entrance and church are also helpful with regards to looking-after your vehicle for the night, although most these services are not for free.

There are three cascading waterfalls in Kawasan. The first one the biggest and has most resorts. The second falls is more memorable as it is not that difficult to swim around and not that deep (dangerous). The third one abound the spring source. Going to the source of the spring, you'll pass by the small dam as the catch basin for waters from the source.

I would definitely recommends the second falls as the resorts are much lesser. There are also few people that stays from this part of the waterfalls.

Below are pictures from the 1st fall to the spring source. An icy cool experience indeed in Badian.

CEBU has to Offer!

Cebu is historically known for Lapu-Lapu and the Sto. Nino. These two are symbols that truly reflects of the island. Nonetheless, my October 2012 tour in Cebu was as beautiful as ever as it brings me back to my comfort zone. I was once lived in Cebu City for four years until November 2009 where i went back to Cagayan de Oro City, but Cebu never fails me of good weather and accommodating every time i came back on a yearly basis.

From Cagayan de Oro, I travelled to Cebu via SuperFerry boat. An overnight travel that cost around 800 Php under Tourist accommodation. There are cheaper rates depending on what accommodation and ferry boat you chose from. SupperFerry on the other hand has the upper hand on the industry as they are the leading vessel company in the country. The boat is clean and has amenities and cafeteria/lounge bar.

It has view deck wherein you can chit-chat with friends and totally enjoy the see breeze watching the sky changes its color as the new dawn of the day greet with you with positivity and enthusiasm.

Before docking to Port of Cebu, some interesting islets can be seen along the Cebu water channels. It will sparks curiosity to the historians as well as photo  enthusiast like me to take pictures of the beautiful scenery.

What better way to start the day in Cebu is to visit the Sto Nino Church. Around 10 minute ride from the port depending on the traffic. Cebu is also know as the island birth of Christianity in the Philippines and rich with historical site and prominent personalities of Philippine History.

Just adjacent to the Church is the Magellan famous Cross and Cebu City Hall. What's good about this site is that you can do a lot of photo shoots that tourist and merchants alike have fun to do.

And just few blocks from here comes another site. Plaza Independencia where the Malacanyan sa Sugbo and Port San Pedro is located. This the oldest and smallest old port in the Philippines.

You also need to visit University of San Carlos, the oldest school in Asia that was founded by the Society of Jesus also known as Jesuits. Their new and thriving Talamban Campus is an envy for other University. Equipped with big college building, laboratories, and the biggest library collections and state-of-the-art library system.

If you happen to love Churches, you need to visit the Archbishop Palace in Cebu. The person to see is Fr. Loreto Jaque and his DUWA group on expressive therapy, he was kind enough to lecture us on the Psychology of Love and had some group dynamics activity with his fellows.

Where else you may go to Cebu? Here are some tourist sites that are must-see and the usual site tourist flock-in during the summer season or for our case all year-long tourist destination.

The TAOIST TEMPLE

The MAGELLAN MARKER

The PROFOOD

Go KART at KARTZONE @ Brgy. Mabolo

Go to MALLs (Ayala or SM)

Well aside from roaming around the city...the good thing is that I am still able to work. Thanks to the our technology world wherein I am able to work and have fun at the same time :) and CEBU is such a good place to both business and pleasure :)
